LESSology Challenge #2: Creative Projects of Dora Dekker and Tesa Broman! :)

Photobucket

Today we are sharing the creative projects of Dora Dekker and Tesa Broman! :)

Photobucket

Hello Everyone, it's Dora here.
And this is my first project for LESSology, and it is such a great one.
The trinket box.
I have made my trinket box from an old box, I always save boxes and have too many of them but they are great to work with.
This is how the box looks like before I start, (sorry for those bad pictures)

First I used cardstock for the whole box, and I used a Grand Die for the upper and lower side. After that I decorated with some design paper including the inside of the box as well as the top portion.

But than we have a box and no little compartments.
I simply used thick chipboard, and make them the size of the box, again I used design paper and used very strong glue, let it dry for a while. You can make different sizes of compartments, like I did.

After that you can do whatever you like.

I always look for old items on markets and antique shops, that key is a real one.
Use little bottles, some buttons, and paper in a dollhouse.
I hope you like my little trinketbox!

Hi all! Tesa here with my first project for the LESSology challenge. I'm so excited, love the upcycling and altering idea!!!

I've made a trinket box for one of my nieces and I thought she'd love a lot of small drawers in a purple box - to match the colors of her room. So I gathered a bunch of old match boxes (I got a ton of those!)  to use as base for my project.

They are glued down on a cardstock base and for the top I made a card the same size as the box. When it was done with decoration and all it was simply adhered on the top with glue.

The papers are from Riddersholm Design and the bird is fuzzy cut from one of the papers. It is adhered with pop dots on an oval cut out with Spellbinders dies.

Inside the card, there is room for a little written message and you could also keep paper notes there. The flourish is cut with a die from Cheery Lynn.

I used brads for handles on the little drawers. And I covered the fronts with patterned paper.

The corners are cut with Spellbinders' Floral Doily Accents shapeabilities.
Now I have to make a pink one for my other niece... LOL! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Now that you have seen our design team inspirations, are you ready to take on LESSology Challenge #2: The Trinket Box?" The deadline for entries is Sunday October 2, 11.59pm EST. Please read the challenge rules to ensure your eligibility for our prizes

LESSology Challenge #2: Creative Projects of Angi Barrs, Mandy Dodd and Julie Tucker-Wolek! :)

Photobucket

Today we get to see the creative projects of Angi Barrs, Mandy Dodd and Julie Tucker-Wolek.

Photobucket

Hello everyone! This is my very first Trinket Box and I'm so happy to share it with you all today.
This started out as a plain wooden box (from Hobby Lobby).
I painted it black, added some patterned paper, and a red Prima flower. Prima flowers go with everything...including altered trinket boxes.

The inside of the box is lined with recycled dictionary paper and red burlap.
I filled it with more Prima flowers.
Now it's time for you guys to join in on the fun!
I can't wait to see your Altered Trinket Boxes!

Photobucket

Hi (waving) it's me, Mandy and here's my project to share with you:

I love these little note card boxes by Prima.  After using all the little cards from inside, these boxes seem just too good to throw away!
So I decided to 'dress' one up!
This one is from the gorgeous Moulin Rouge range.
One thing I love to do is make up yoyo's out of scrap fabric, and these were perfect to hide away in my little box.
Here's the alteration:
By using one of the note cards, it became perfect for the top of the lid, which was embellished (see top photo).
And on the inside, the stark white underside of the lid needed painting.
And the base also was quite 'white' so used some left over Moulin Rouge paper to cover it.
And another pic of the end result!
Thanks for looking!

Photobucket

Hi everyone :)
I am excited to share my altered trinket box today! :)
I started off with a box lunch box from Chick-Fil-A ... *yum*! :):):)
I added paper to the top and the sides and then on the sides, I used a stamp pad to give the  cardstock a unique design :)
To cover up the seams of the box, I added twine :) And the top I added a few embellies! :)
I am going to use this box for the little things that I want to save for future scrap pages, (ticket stubs from movies, shows that we go to, postcards, trinkets) things that I ALWAYS WANT to use on my scrap pages and I will randomly place in different places on my desk and then forget where I put them...lol! So, now I have a box to put them in so I don't misplace them! :)
Thanks for stopping by...and I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge! :):)
Is your head brimming with ideas for your own trinket box? We would love for you to play along with LESSology Challenge #2: The Trinket Box. Please leave a little love for our designers. :)
