How about using LESSology Challenge #46: Typeface as inspiration for making the man in your life a masculine card? Let's see how design team member Lizzy Hill did hers.

Hi there! This month's LESSOLOGY challenge #46 is to use TYPEFACE - have a play with different fonts. Such fun! I decided to do a 'man' card & used a pile of re & up-cycled bits & bobs including:
  1. buttons
  2. string
  3. music paper
  4. a paper [store] bag from the USA [from my son's GF in the USA!!]
  5. plasterer's tape

A vintage looking project. To me, men & vintage just go together!
 Gather your stuff:
 Create a base:
Work out where your embellies will 'sit happiest'! Yes, it's a VERY precise art. NOT!!!
Attach a sentiment. Motex writers work a treat with the vintage look:
So does raw chippy, Distress ink & gesso:
Et voila!

A few Gimmer Glaze drips don't go astray either!
Can't wait for your TYPEFACE projects!!!
Happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

How about a really pretty project to get your creative juices going? Check out what design team member Mitra Pratt did for LESSology Challenge #46: Typeface.

Used plenty of real moss to give both birds a spot to nest. Also a dog wood branch got additional glitter glue to make the flowers a little prettier!

My favorite part of the whole cage was adding the glass feet. I was covered in glitter by the end, but I spaced the four feet out by counting the bars and drilling a small hole in the base. You can see the screws in the photo below where I attached them.

Fun times! Hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Ready for another round of inspiration for LESSology Challenge #46: Typeface? Let's see what design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår came up with....:)

Hello there! :) I'm so happy to see that you have found your way back to us here at LESSology where upcycling is in focus. As you probably have noticed, our April challenge is called Typeface and is all about using different Fonts on your project and of course include at least one upcycled item.

Here is what I came up with....decorating a box of chocolate.... yes I know Easter is over, but I still have some of the YUMMY  chocolate toffee left ;)

here is the box before it was  decorated

My upcycled item (you can see it on this photo above) is the plastic sheet from a pack of Easter epoxy stickers. I used it to stamp the different fonts and the typewriter.

Here you can see 3 of the 4 different fonts I used. One using little alphabet stickers, and 2 of them stamped on the upcycled plastic sheet...

....and finaly the 4th font on an epoxy "Happy Easter" sticker

The feathers are upcycled too. They came on a spring decoration made by the Women's Institution for their  annual spring fund raising.

Here is the box with the tray pulled out...
(next year I buy a new box  of  chocolate toffee to refill it ;)

Stay tuned for more inspiration coming up.....We are so looking forward to see  all your  different ideas, and don't forget to let us know where on your creations we can find your upcycled items.

LESSology Challenge #46: Creative inspiration of Yvonne Yam

 photo Challenge-46-Typeface-design-team-projects_zpsh0ll166l.jpg

Mixing fonts is a great way to add visual interest to any project. Consider mixing up the fonts and showcasing your fave quote on a wall hanging or use different fonts to convey playfulness like in design team member Yvonne Yam's layout for LESSology Challenge #46: Typeface.

I love using different fonts on my layout as a design element. It is also a great way to use little bits of scraps leftover from previous projects.

The base of my layout was residual mists from a previous project pressed onto a sheet of watercolour paper. I strategically used "ruined" [you know, victims of artistic mishaps..*winks*] journal cards by tucking them behind photos to help"frame" them and create visual interest. Some twine from packaging was looped around a tag for textured interest.

I went with printed fonts on patterned papers, fonts on stickers as well as my own handwriting.

The word "enjoy" was cut out from a piece of American Crafts patterned paper and outlined with a white pen to make the word "pop" a little more.

Let's see how creative you can get for LESSology Challenge #46: Typeface.
